Syllabus

To be ‘Graded’ is ‘Earned’ NOT ‘Given’ by ShotokanFit.

The Sensei (teacher) decides whether a student satisfies conditions prescribed and is hence allowed to sit the examination

Kyu Pathway
Student progression
Kyu grades sit below black belt and are awarded based on effort, attendance, understanding, and execution at each level. Belt colours help students track progress toward Sho-Dan.

Dan Progression
Sho-Dan to Ju-Dan
Black belt ranks progress from 1st Dan to 10th Dan. Each level requires minimum time-in-grade, continued training, and instructor approval.

Teaching Titles
Renshi • Kyoshi • Hanshi
Titles apply only to specific rank ranges and are awarded for achievement, character, contribution, and maturity — not automatically by rank.
